As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe that mental health is vital to creating a balanced life. I understand that change is difficult, and it is not easy to ask for help! I enjoy working with people aged 18 and over with a variety of challenges. I have specialized experience in depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, personality disorders, substance use and addictions.
I’m Kaylee Torno, MA, LPC, NCC and the founder of WayForward Counseling & Consulting. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and have over a decade of experience supporting individuals and families as a licensed therapist and professional school counselor. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed care. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and adults who are navigating life transitions, anxiety, stress, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about their next steps, and are ready to find a way forward toward greater balance and fulfillment.
I've worked as a clinical social worker in community mental health and in private practice for over 12 years. I provide services in English and Spanish.

I seek to help my clients manage a variety of issues unique to women and couples, including the emotional and psychological changes that accompany your fertility and parenting journey. I frequently work with concerns related to infertility, loss, pregnancy, the postpartum period and the menopause transition. I bring specialized training in anxiety, depression, self-esteem, parental support, and relationship issues. My goal as a therapist is to walk alongside you through life’s challenges, helping you grow into a healthier, more fulfilled version of yourself.
I’m really glad you’re here.
Many of the people I work with are used to being capable, thoughtful, and strong for others, but inside, something feels off. You might be dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, or a sense that you’ve lost connection with yourself. Sometimes it’s not just about what’s happening right now, but patterns that have been quietly shaping your life for a long time.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Colorado, with over 20 years experience working across a wide range of settings, including community mental health, mobile crisis and co-response, skilled nursing, public health, and critical access hospitals. This background allows me to meet you where you are, whether you’re navigating everyday stress or something more complex, to bring both depth and compassion to our work.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, life transitions (career, relationships, health, identity shifts), and the lingering impact of stress or past experiences.
If you’re here, you may be carrying a lot—burnout, compassion fatigue, or the weight of always being the strong one. I work with people who give a lot to others, including military members, veterans, first responders, hospital staff, and helpers who have seen too much. Together, we slow things down, make sense of what you’ve been through, and focus on practical steps that help you feel steadier, safer, more grounded, & more like yourself again over time. This is a space to breathe, regroup, and build skills that support healing, balance, and sustainable change
