Many of the men I work with feel cut off from their emotions, weighed down by anxiety, and uncertain about how to manage stress at work or at home. Together, we uncover what’s getting in the way, rebuild connection to self, and cultivate the tools needed for healthier relationships and a more balanced, rewarding life.
I am a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed therapist who specializes in working with children, teens, and families. I have extensive experience supporting clients with autism, adhd, anxiety, big emotions, and challenging behaviors. I also enjoy providing parent support and coaching.
As a parent of 2 neurodivergent children, I bring both professional expertise and lived empathy to my work. I offer telehealth (primary) in-home, and community-based sessions so I can meet clients where they feel most comfortable.
I have worked with clients who experience anxiety and depression for over 15 years, 8 years of that as an LPC. I have experience in multiple settings including outpatient and inpatient.
I have worked my entire career within a hospital setting and specialize in working with first responders, healthcare providers and doctors.
I will meet you where you are. I will do my best to help you feel comfortable, safe, and at ease. There is no judgement.
I am a clinical social worker who uses an attuned and compassionate approach to accompany you in your deep inner healing work. I have experience working with trauma, anxiety, grief/loss, attachment, and the LGBTQ+/polyamorous/CNM community. I utilize IFS, EMDR, and mindfulness and somatic based practices to help you identify, honor, and release emotions and narratives that impact your well-being or self-perception.
I was born in Colombia and moved to the U.S when I was 18. I have lived in Pueblo, CO since 2017. I attended University of Florida for my undergraduate and masters degrees. I am a Mindfulness Meditation certified teacher and currently finishing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy certification through DBT-Linehan board of Certification.
My client should know that my general approach is insight-based, which means I'll be asking about history, what's worked in the past, family relationships, and romantic relationship patterns. I do this to help clients understand the patterns so we know what to target deeper.
I believe trust and authenticity are what create a strong foundation in the therapeutic relationship. Everyone has a different perspective on the world. We all have hurts and experiences that make us feel like we need to do more or be more to feel worthy of a good life. No matter your hurts and experiences, I will meet you where you are with honesty and genuine curiosity about your worldview. I will walk with you through the hurdles of life.
My introduction to helping people and psychology both came about, as a result of following my mom’s example and the Bob Newhart Show. My mother was a natural people person with a keen interest and background in psychology. My take-away from the Bob Newhart Show drove home the needs for humor and light-heartedness as well as a genuine love for what you do. I believe that those qualities: love for people and my passion and seeing the humor in things truly define me, both as a therapist and a person. My academic journey led me to both bachelors and masters degrees from The University of Northern Colorado and included intensive training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy during my sabbatical in between my degrees. With a strong theoretical base supporting me, I moved forward and was able to blend my education with twenty years of real-world experience. I went on and diversified my experience as I worked in community counseling, community corrections, Inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. Although our learning never ceases, I feel very comfortable and sincere in offering clients my wealth of experience, knowledge of human behavior, and most of all, a kind ear.
