I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH22156) in the state of Florida. I've worked in a variety of settings, such as psychiatric hospitals, crisis stabilization units, community agencies and college campuses. My clients have a wide range in age, gender, sexual orientation, faith, education level, ethnicity, and cultural background. In my practice, I like to focus on life transitions, whether it's leaving a job, becoming a parent, or starting college.
I'm a social scientist -- all my degrees are in the social sciences. I'm the first man in history to earn a master's degree in Women's Studies in Florida. I rely heavily on psychoeducation and cognitive behavioral therapy and employ an eclectic approach. I enjoy helping high-functioning women and men free themselves from stress, guilt and anxiety. "Anyone who thinks there's a difference between education and entertainment doesn't know anything about either one." -- Marshall McLuhan

My areas of expertise include family conflicts, risky behavior in teens, sibling rivalry, anxiety and shyness, victims of bullying, depression, low frustration tolerance, trauma, and problems of self-image. Freud said, “Love and work are the cornerstones of our humanness.” I believe his insight was right: positive relationships and fulfilling, productive work impact our mental and physical wellness. This forms the focus of my practice. I've counseled adults dealing with relationship conflict, work stress or life transitions for over ten years.
