I grew up in central Florida and earned my Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University, followed by a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida. During graduate school, I gained experience working in a treatment facility and with college students at USF, advocating for children’s educational needs while they balanced mental health treatment. This exposure led to my interest in behavior-focused therapy, particularly in using exposure techniques.
I’ve worked with children, teens, and adults dealing with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, Tourette's, and disordered eating.
Hi, I’m Kara, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly a decade of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship stress while developing healthier emotional boundaries and self-awareness.
I’m a passionate and down-to-earth therapist who genuinely loves this work. I care deeply about people, and I bring that into every session. Outside of therapy, I enjoy the outdoors, staying active, and continuing to grow in my own personal life. I use the same tools and skills I teach, because mental health is something all of us benefit from strengthening.
I’m honored to walk alongside people in their healing process. Your journey is unique, and I see my role as helping you tap into your strengths, build confidence, and create the kind of life you want—one step at a time.
I am currently preparing for maternity leave beginning in May. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a master’s-level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) practicing in Florida. My experience working in residential treatment settings for mental health and substance use has shaped my commitment to compassionate, client-centered care. Through years of clinical practice, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of how thoughts, emotions, and life experiences impact daily functioning and overall well-being.
I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, respected, and understood. Like many people, I have faced personal challenges that have deepened my understanding of mental health and strengthened my empathy for those I work with. Throughout my career, I’ve supported adults with dual diagnoses, trauma, mood disorders, serious mental illness, and substance use concerns, as well as older adults navigating life transitions.
