Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping adolescents, young adults, and adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion and insight. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in depression, or facing a major life transition, I provide a safe and supportive space to explore what’s getting in the way of feeling your best.
My approach blends psychodynamic therapy—which helps uncover patterns and experiences that shape who you are—with cognitive behavioral techniques to help you develop practical tools for managing your thoughts and emotions. Together, we’ll work toward understanding yourself more deeply and building the confidence to make meaningful changes in your life.
I believe therapy should feel like a collaborative conversation, not a clinical evaluation. My goal is to meet you where you are, honor your story, and help you move toward greater clarity, resilience, and peace of mind.
(More info at: www.moazenmd.expert) I’m a psychiatrist and trauma therapist experienced in EMDR, AEDP, PE, interpersonal psychodynamic therapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. I’m also faculty at Mount Sinai Hospital, where I teach psychiatry residents and previously served as a Physician-Scientist Chief Resident. My clinical work includes treating trauma, OCD, tics, generalized anxiety, and anxiety related to physical symptoms, often alongside attention and executive-function difficulties.
I’ve trained at several leading centers for trauma care and LGBTQ+ mental health, including Mount Sinai’s Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS), the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania (CTSA), and the William Alanson White Institute.
How many of us are comfy in our skin? Were you told growing up to be tough, suck it up, get it done, & don't talk about your feelings? Do you feel stress & even sad at times because of not achieving goals/not meeting standards of others? We rarely take time to step back to reflect how hard it all is for us. You deserve the opportunity to release the pain. Consider your burden could be lighter. I am passionate about being side by side with you pealing the stinky onion layers to life at your pace.
I am approachable and I like to provide a safe space.
I’ve been in practice for over 13 years since completing my postgraduate training at Harvard and University of California affiliated programs. I am board certified in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry.
I’m open minded, non judgemental, and most of all, want to help. My private practice is just getting started, so I am scheduling patients on an immediate basis.
I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I work full-time as a Psychotherapist at a non-profit community mental health clinic. This place allows me to obtain clinical experience and develop counseling skills. I am experienced working with Mood Disorders, Trauma & PTSD, Behavioral Disorders, Personality Disorders, Substance Abuse, and the LGBTQ community. I am competent in working with multiple cultural backgrounds. I have a Certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Prior to my current experience, I worked as a Bilingual Psychotherapist at a Chinese Psychiatry practice. I have many years of research experience on mental health.
I developed a good understanding of how to connect with individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds. In addition to English, I speak Cantonese and Mandarin fluently which allows me to be multiculturally competent.
