I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist, licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. I specialize in supporting women navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, and major life transitions. My background includes years of experience in community mental health, crisis counseling, and private practice, giving me a wide perspective on the challenges people face. Many of my clients come to me during seasons of change, adjusting to motherhood, coping with loss, or redefining their identity after difficult experiences.
I received my Master of Social Work from East Carolina University and have been practicing as a therapist for 11 years. I believe the foundation of effective therapy lies in a strong therapeutic relationship- one built on trust, openness, and authenticity. I am known for my open-minded, nonjudgmental, and creative approach, helping my clients feel understood and supported as we work together toward growth and healing.
My aim is to first help clients feel heard, understood, and supported in their goals. Then, I aim to provide evidence based interventions to equip them with the tools necessary to help them feel stronger, and empowered to face life's challenges.
I help people who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, self-doubt, trauma, or major life changes find steadiness again. My clients are often caring, capable people who feel stuck in survival mode—wanting peace but unsure how to get there. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what’s been weighing on you, and rebuild a sense of ease and confidence. We will also look back at how early life experiences shaped the way you see yourself and others, so we can shift old beliefs and habits that no longer serve you. My style is warm, honest, and collaborative—you’ll never have to face your struggles alone.
I guide people to make sense of what’s going on inside—the racing thoughts, the heaviness, the tension that lives in the body, and the patterns that keep repeating—and turn that insight into real change. We’ll build tools to calm your mind, regulate emotions, and set boundaries that actually stick.
Hi, I’m Tammy. I believe therapy should feel like a supportive conversation—a two-sided dialogue built on warmth, compassion, and a genuine desire to understand your unique story.
As a therapist, I am dedicated to creating a safe and open-minded environment where we can work together to turn your challenges into strengths
