Conversation flow is important to me as a Therapist because we talk about serious issues during session and I believe the conversation doesn't have to feel like work. With 17 years of experience I have more than enough confidence to help address any issue brought before me. It will be noticed that I discuss, the importance of having good quality rest, nutrition choices, and exercise routines consistently.
Finding the right therapist is about finding someone who truly "gets" it. With years of experience across the lifespan—from children and teens to adults—I help people navigate the complexities of depression, anxiety, and the heavy weight of workplace stress.
My practice is deeply rooted in supporting those healing from family and interpersonal trauma. I also hold a special interest in working with individuals with ADHD, helping them lean into their strengths while managing the unique executive function challenges that come with a neurodivergent brain.
Whether you’re a parent seeking support for your child or an adult looking to reclaim your peace, I offer a collaborative, grounded space to help you move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered.
As a therapist, I have worked with clients in schools, communities, and office settings for over a decade. I enjoys working with children with ADHD and ODD and with children who have experienced physical and sexual abuse. He also works with adults who are dealing with substance misuse, mood disorders such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, personality problems, and adults with dual diagnoses and behavioral problems.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) therapist, licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. I specialize in supporting women navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, and major life transitions. My background includes years of experience in community mental health, crisis counseling, and private practice, giving me a wide perspective on the challenges people face. Many of my clients come to me during seasons of change, adjusting to motherhood, coping with loss, or redefining their identity after difficult experiences.
Life can be unpredictable, filled with moments of stress, uncertainty, and past hurts that hold us back. Drawing on my background as a retired member of the U.S. Air Force, I bring discipline, commitment, and a compassionate understanding of life's challenges to my practice. As a husband and father of four, I know firsthand the importance of building strong, supportive relationships and nurturing a sense of connection and purpose. My journey in higher education began with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2019, followed by earning a Master’s in Social Work from Walden University in 2022.
Additionally, being EMDR trained and well-versed in a variety of therapeutic approaches allows me to customize treatment plans that address your unique needs, whether you're dealing with anxiety, trauma, or relationship challenges.
When we're in session, you'll find a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions. Together, we'll work to dismantle unhelpful patterns and build the skills necessary for a balanced, fulfilling life. Let's embark on this journey to uncover your inner strength and create lasting, positive change.
