As a clinical social worker, I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in time. I work with people from many walks of life to get re-centered and back on track. I focus on developing strategies to take care of one self, creating goals and evaluating barriers that get in the way. I help people identify limiting beliefs and heal from past trauma in order to move forward and create the life you desire.
I am here to help and support you in the healing process for yourself. I am caring, genuine, sincere to what your goals are in therapy.
Doug Goldschmidt has been practicing psychotherapy since 1997. Before 1997, Doug was first a musician and then a telecommunications economist who worked in South America, Asia, and Ireland to develop innovative communications systems.
He later studied Buddhist psychology, which formed the core of his psychotherapy practice. This was followed by his earning an MSW at NYU in 1997 and extensive training that included certifications in EMDR and Hypnosis.
I received my MSW from Columbia University and have been a clinician for 8 years. I incorporate CBT with a psychodynamic approach in order to both affirm and challenge clients. My practice is rooted in a strengths-based and person-centered approach. To help you meet your goals, I prioritize understanding you and where your identity, values, and life experiences intersect.
