As a clinical psychologist, I assist patients in reshaping negative thought and behavior patterns in a judgement free setting.
Thank you for your willingness to show up for yourself by reaching out for help. This part of your journey may be a bit uneasy, but you are already on your way to better. I am looking forward to meeting with you so we can discuss things further. I attended Howard University where I obtained by master's degree in social work. I have been in this field for more then thirteen years. I have worked with men, women, children, and adolescents with a variety of diagnoses, and psychiatric backgrounds.
I have been doing art therapy since the 80’s- only I didn’t know there was a name for all the thoughts and feelings I poured out on paper.
As a kid, I was always dabbling in different mediums that helped externalize the myriad of feelings I had about being a misfit in this world or simply trying to work out a situation that was confusing. As I grew older, I discovered theater through the creation of huge murals and set designs.
I worked as a scenic artist until I discovered art therapy, and realized how much I enjoyed sharing the discovery of art making as a means to connect our inner and outer experiences, then connecting with the world around us.
I utilize many approaches, depending on the needs of the person sitting in front of me.My training, practice and belief is that therapy needs to be oriented towards social justice- therapy is for all bodies, all identities, all abilities. My approaches include looking at: Attachment, Somatic Experiencing, Anti-Oppression, Grief, Generational Trauma, and PTSD. Overall, I believe the most important aspect of therapy is building a relationship.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults around anxiety, mood concerns, relationships, and feeling stuck in patterns that don’t seem to change. I care a lot about creating a real, human connection in therapy—not just giving advice or tools. My style is warm and collaborative, but also honest and thoughtful. I believe therapy works best when support and personal responsibility go hand in hand.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and hold a CASAC 2 certification in the state of NY. I have worked with people in my private practice struggling with alcohol use, marijuana use, anxiety, depression, marital concerns, and life transitions. I continue to pursue educational opportunities to enhance my skills and further my growth in the field of counseling and substance abuse. I am a mom of three kids and one dog :)
I’m Omar, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I’ve practiced across diverse settings—from military service to outpatient and inpatient care, and managed care—supporting clients with complex physical and mental health needs, including immigrants and asylum seekers. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel empowered to move with confidence and intention. In therapy, we work together at your pace to build practical skills, navigate challenges, and create lasting, positive change.
