Hello! My name is Nicole and I am a New York State licensed mental health counselor who specializes in working with adults and adolescents. I have experience working with depression, anxiety disorders, self-esteem building, Women's issues, interpersonal issues, and other more complex issues like schizophrenia and bipolar disorders.
I also have experience in writing ESA letters and other types of documentation.
I am a trauma informed clinician with training in CBT and DBT. I work from a strengths based perspective with children, adolescents, and their families as well as adults and couples to help navigate the complexity of relationships and day to day stressors. I run several groups including social skill building groups for children who have diagnoses including 2e, Anxiety, ADHD, ODD, and ASD, parent support groups, and DBT skill building groups.
I have worked in residential and school settings as well as in criminal justice. I also the parent of an elementary age child who is always teaching me things and helps me see things from a child's perspective.
It can be very difficult to trust someone especially a stranger and telling your story multiple times. Asking for help is not always easy and scheduling can be challenging. Currently I see adult clients remotely and some children outdoors in Prospect Park.
I want you to feel comfortable and empowered in our work together, so here’s what might be helpful to know about me:
My Approach: I practice from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, abolitionist, decolonized, narrative, and CBT lens, tailored to your unique goals. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we’ll collaborate to find what works for you.
My Role: I’m not here to give advice or judge. My job is to help you uncover insights, build skills, and navigate challenges with compassion, while you remain the expert on your own life.
My Boundaries: I don’t share personal details beyond what’s clinically helpful to protect our therapeutic relationship. This keeps the focus on you.
My Commitment: I prioritize cultural humility, LGBTQ+ affirming care, and social justice. Your identities and values will always be respected here.
My Limits: If your needs fall outside my expertise, I’ll help you find a better-fit provider. Your safety and progress come first.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
